Traubel's Popcorn Stand

This is a replica of a historic popcorn stand that stood directly across the street from its current location. It was owned by John and Stella Traubel and opened from 1937-1987. Many residents and people who grew up in Beatrice have fond memories of buying the town's best popcorn at Traubel's from "The Popcorn Lady" (Ruth Gustafson.) The original stand was donated to the Gage County Historical Society and is housed in their west building near the museum. The non-profit group, Community Possibilities, reopened the replica in May of 2014 and work the stand. A portion of their profits is donated every month to help local groups in need. Traubel's Popcorn offers buttery popcorn, caramel, and a variety of other flavors. We are open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
